children and adolescents -
Childhood and adolescence are times of rapid and ever-evolving change. While kids and teens are deeply creative and skilled at adapting to change, they also depend on the support of loving, caring adults to foster healthy development. Sometimes this involves finding the support of a mental health professional for a period of time. I believe that therapy for children and adolescents is at its best when the therapist and caregiver(s) are on the same team. This means I will take the time and care that is needed to create an environment where your child's privacy is respected, and you as the caregiver are empowered to support your child's emotional growth.
Therapy with children and adolescents can take a variety of forms depending on the child's age and needs. I utilize child centered play therapy and art therapy where appropriate.
I see children and adolescents of all ages in my practice, with a particular focus on children ages five to twelve.
