What can I expect on the phone consultation?

This is an opportunity for me to learn about what you are looking for in therapy, and for you to ask me any questions you have. On the call we may decide to schedule a first session, in which case we will set a time and plan to continue our conversation in person or over telehealth.

 How often will we meet?

I offer sessions once per week or more frequently, depending on your needs.

 How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes.

What happens if I can't make a session?

I ask for 24 hours notice in order to avoid charging the session fee. I know that sometimes things come up last minute. If you aren't able to give 24 hours notice, but we are able to mutually find a time to reschedule within the week, you won't be charged for the cancellation.

 Do you take insurance?

At this time I am not able to accept insurance, but I am happy to provide you with a superbill.

I'm seeking therapy for my child. How can I expect to be involved as their caregiver?

I'll take some time to talk with you about this during our initial phone consultation. Most likely you'll come in with your child for part or all of our first session. Confidentiality is critical for therapy and I take your child's privacy very seriously, but there are some limits to this when safety is a concern. I find it helpful to discuss this with you and your child together so that we are all on the same page. You and I will likely meet from time to time throughout treatment, depending on your child's age and needs.
